Good morning all. With it looking likely that the two eggs remaining on the LOTL nest have failed I’m sure you’ll agree that the wee chick we have is going to be the most spoilt osprey chick in Scotland if not the UK. The last time I remember just one chick was in 2008. That chick constantly attacked Lady Marge for food. She used to have to fly from side to side of the nest to get out of its way. I’d like to think that feisty wee chick has its own nest now and is getting payback 
.
This is very poor quality but this was the chick in 2008 that came with attitude.
I’d like to share some photos today from Paul, Neil and Brian. Not ospreys but still beautiful and the cuckoo captured by Paul is another summer visitor. Fish Deliveries – 3 00.51 Lady has remained settled facing 5ish. Sweet sleep. 00.54 Lady is already up to the right for a stretch, shoot off the rim, back on eggs and shorty, facing 9ish. 01.43 A few wiggles and a little digging later, Lady is resting facing 5. 02.37 Our sweet Lady Isla is still resting at 5. 03.11 Lady has shifted to 8ish, head down in front. Resting. 04.35 Lady nestled on the chick and eggs, Head up looking about her. Birds singing in the nearby trees. Guess nothing happened overnight as yet? Looks like its raining but I could be wrong. xx 04.52 Geese flying past honking 05.15 Lady takes a poop break and is back within the minute and lands on her perch. Camera zooms for a close-up of eggs but chick is across them

11.16 Lady goes up onto her perch still quietly cheeping
11.17 She flies off
11.18 Back onto the nest and settles on the eggs and chick 11.58 Lady shouting for a fish 12.30 A bird is having a good go at the mic. 12.48 CLOSE UP OF CHICK WHO HAS A FEATHER ON END OF BEAK
12.49 LADY SETTLING DOWN AGAIN ON CHICK AND EGGS 12.57 LOOKS AND SOUNDS FAIRLY WINDY AT LOWES 14.07 LADY HAD A WRIGGLE ROUND – LOOKS AS THOUGH SHE IS SHOUTING, ALTHOUGH I HAVE NO SOUND
14.08 YES CAN HEAR HER NOW
14.15 and hes’s back and immediately tries to move a huge branch! He succeeds and perches on it and moves another, Lady chirping at him all the while 14.17 Lady and Laddie both on the nest, can’t see whether there was a fish delivery, don’t think so,Laddie doing a little twig relocation, Lady sitting the eggs. Lady very vocal sending him out
for lunch no doubt. 14.16 LADDIE BACK – LADY LAYING THERE STILL SHOUTING
LADDIE REARRANGING THE BRANCH AND NOW STANDING ON EDGE OF NEST WITH ONE FOOT CURLED UP 14.20 LADY UP AND SHOUTING STILL – MOVES TO THE SIDE OF NEST AND HAS ONE FOOT UP
14.21 LADDIE FLIES OFF 14.20 Lady gets up and helps with twig moving and after a few moments he flies off 14.21 Laddie flies off, Lady off the eggs and chick looking about 14.22 LOOKED AS THOUGH SHE WAS TURNING THE EGGS BEFORE SETTLING BACK DOWN 14.22 Lady hunkers down again 14.43 LADY SHOUTING AGAIN 15.08 LADY STARTED CALLING AGAIN 15.09 LADDIE BACK – THIS TIME WITH A FISH - AGAIN, IT LOOKS AS THOUGH THE HEAD IS STILL ON IT 15.09 FISH DELIVERY- BOTH ON NEST – CHICK UP AND READY 15.10 CHICK MOVING ACROSS – WANTS MORE FOOD! 15.15 LOOKS AS THOUGH LADY DEALING WITH THE HEAD – CHICK MOVING FURTHER AND FURTHER TOWARDS HER AND THE FISH.
TAIL STILL FLAPPING ON THE FISH 15.,15 Lady taking off the head before feeding the chick who is sat watching mum and trying to climb closer. Hope he keeps out of the way of that tail
It was a good size fish 15.17 LADY HAS HER TALONS FIRMLY ON THIS ONE! CHICK GOT A LITTLE BIT AND THEN PROMPTLY FELL BACKWARDS! 15.20 CHICK BEING FED WELL NOW – THAT TAIL IS STILL FLAPPING ABOUT THOUGH It is the way Lady is holding it Marion, talons into the spine and nervous system so it keeps twitching. It is well and truly deceased xxx 15.22 That IS a big fish. Chick is thinking, I don’t want to get smacked around again! 15.36 Can hear Laddie alarm calling, Lady flat out on chick and eggs looking skywards. 16.39 Lady feeding the chick from the same fish bought in earlier. 16.41 Feeding time again, didn’t see whether a fresh fish came in 16.46 chick is really growing now. Shame Lady only has the one, but at least he/she doesn’t have to fight for the food and is certainly getting the best start in life alt=”" /> 16.57 LADY SETTLED BACK DOWN I SHOULD THINK CHICK HAS HAD A GOOD FEED AGAIN 17.21 LADDIE BACK AND OFF WITH THE REMAINS OF THE FISH 17.53 Chick being fed. 17.59 Lady is back on the chick and eggs, and it looks like the static camera is on now. Lady still looks to be listening every now and then. 18-15, Lady on the egg/s and Rocket. 18.26 Laddie has just landed, half-heartedly tried to move a twig and flown off. 19.59. I know it’s a vain hope, but LADY does seem to be a little restless, looking down and seeming to be listening. I wonder whether nature’s instinct tells her that another egg should hatch, even when she can’t hear anything? 21-44, Laddie lands with a headless fish, Lady up, takes it from him, Rocket is up and moving over to see if he can get some.. Laddie still on the nest. Ladies moult is really showing now.
21-47, Rocket just had his first piece form this delivery. 22.00 Lady back sitting on chick, sounds like it is raining heavily. Hopefully it won’t last long. Fish left lying at the side of nest cup. 22.12 Infrared cam on but not sure when it happened. lady facing 12 and head down going to sleep 22-28, Lady is asleep. 22.44 Lady sleeping quietly now, 23.16 Lady is doing a little preening under her left wing, working on her look. Sitting and facing 10. 23.38 Lady Isla is up for a shoot and a flap. After a good stretch, she deicdes to get a bite and little one is eagerly coming out for a midnight snack! 23.42 Lady is back on chick and eggs facing 9ish. Resting nicely. 23.56 Oh it’s raining now. Lady still at 9, awake and protecting the goods. Ahhhh a head shake. A good solid spring rain coming down at the Loch.
