Good Morning All
Well, Blue44 took off at 11.55am yesterday and without any warning, just flapped his wings and flew with the wind beneath his wings. From what I saw it looked as though he had a good flight, a bit low but other than that he was looking good.
Our member Anne C was visiting Lowes for the first time and was lucky enough to be there at the time Blue44 Fledged and saw it as it happened. This is what she said “So excited. just back from my first ever visit to Lowes and we saw Blue44 fledge!! He just stepped off the edge and flew towards us in the hide then off round behind trees at the nest. The excitement was intense. One of the staff was with us and there were quite a few tears. Mine included. As we were waiting for his return Emma arrived. She missed it all as she was working on the blog about eggs. Lady is sitting in silver birch and Laddie is on boingy tree. They are not at all alarmed by the fact that he is not back. Emma said they would be distress calling if anything was wrong so let us just hope they are right. Can’t believe our luck. It was spectacular.” “We had to wait over an hour to even see chick as intruders were around and he was made to lie low. He wasted no time when he did get up though. Lady flew off to sit in the birch tree and as soon as she was settled he just stepped off. The staff member who was with us was joking that she probably told him just when to go as everyone there does what Lady tells them.”
Thank you Anne for letting us know about your visit and the excitement from the hide, your timing was just perfect, one you won’t forget in a hurry, that’s for sure
