Good morning Villagers
Lady waited a long time yesterday for the first fish of the day. It was delivered at 17.15 but was a huge one. Laddie is doing such a brilliant job at egg sitting it looks like Lady trusts him and has her time away from the nest. It will be interesting to see what happens when the bobbleheads arrive. I feel he is going to be a lovely caring providing dad. I have noticed he is very good at landing on the nest away from Lady and the eggs each time he brings in a fish, not so good with branches though LOL
Nestcap Thursday 3rd May 2012  Fish Deliveries - 1  00.21 Lady up and gives her eggs a turn and settles back down again 00.29 Lady flat out sleeping now. 06.44 Lady on the nest, on early early egg brooding duties. 07.03 Lady calling softly. 07.14 LOOKS LIKE LADY SHOUTING – BREAKFAST IS LATE AGAIN!! 07.15 Lady turns the eggs 07.21 Laddie flies in with a branch, not what Lady wanted, she is off and he settles on the eggs. 09.12 Laddie has just given himself and the eggs a little turn, and is busily throwing sticks on his back 09.52 Lady peeping, but getting more insistent for her breakfast, I think. Ducks making a noise on the loch. 10.37 Lady still on the nest but looking a bit restless – I expect she is waiting for breakfast 11.30 Laddie arrives with nesting material. Lady off and he settles on the eggs and starts to barricade himself in. 11.46 Laddie up and moving sticks and grass around, now settles on the eggs oh he is up again, back to facing the same way as when he got up!!! 11.58 He is up again, he is real figity today. 12.32 Laddie on the nest, I see there has been no fish delivery this morning! 12.34 Lady flies in and Laddie off, another smooth changeover. Hope he has gone fishing now. 13.15 Big wing stretch for Lady and a turn of the eggs. 13.36 Isla stands and turns the eggs again,,, fiddles a lot,, then finally hunkers down again,, still looking for that itinerant partner of hers 13.46 Close up of ISLA panting in the heat,,, 13.48 Wonderful close up of our girl, thank you camera person at LotLs. 13.51 I don’t have a bloomin clue what happened there,,, it was so fast and the webcam was moving all over the place,,, DID Laddie bring in a fish ??WAS there a hand over ?? All I saw was a bird land, a lit of wing flapping and one bird flew off,, all in seconds,,, Looking at the webcam it looks as if it is LADDIE Nest and egg sitting,,, 13.52 Was that a fish, camera timed out on me.
13.54 Laddie now on duty, looking into the camera. 13 57 Head marking show this to be LADDIE turning the eggs folks,,, 14.06 Laddie on the eggs. 14.12 Checked footage Chrissy, NO FISH, he flew in and she flew straight off 14.41 Laddie still sitting quietly and soaking up the rare sunshine 14.50 Laddie still nodding off now and then, such hard work egg sitting!! 16.25 Oyster catchers flying over 17.15 Huge Fish Delivery, Lady takes it and flies off, Laddie gets onto the eggs 17.24 LADDIE NOW SITTING COMFORTABLY ON THE EGGS IN LOVELY SUNSHINE 18.10 Lady is back – changeover – does she looked stuffed 18.13 Lady not comfy and gets up to turns eggs again, settles back down

18.46 And she’s back up again still not quite right and turns the eggs again
18.47 Change Over, Laddie arrives in with a Large thick branch and Lady’s off
18.48 Laddie settles down onto his eggs

17-11, Laddie settled on the eggs now and the sun is shining on him again. and it doesnt look so windy there now.
I am off now to see what I can cook up for my dinner.
Will look in later.
Missed the fish supper, I was in the kitchen cooking our dinner. Liver and bacon, with mushrooms, brocoli, carrots and roasties. Strawberries and cream for afters.
Yum Yum, I love Liver Julie. xxx
Very full up now Jan xxx
Good evening everyone. I have been absent today as had to get the hair brightened up a bit. OH met
me after and said he wanted to show me something he had thought of as a surprise pressie to ourselves
for our 45th Wedding Anniversary on Sunday. Couldn’t think what it was but soon found myself going
into the local Apple shop. He had his eye on an IPad, thought it would be very useful. The guy showed
us its benefits and I actually logged into the blog, although didn’t post didn’t want him to see my password -
However I was a bit disappointed that although I could get SWT it didn’t show the cam because it is Adobe
Flash and the IPad is only on hdnl, which everything will have to be by the end of the year because Flash
will be no longer. I couldn’t make out from the whizz kid whether it will be an automatic change for everyone
or whether there will be some things unobtainable still on the IPad. However when we decided to have one
they had sold out! Do any of you know about Adobe Flash and the new hdnl taking it over?
MARION I am sorry to read above of your problems with your daughter. I agree with everyone else you
said the right thing, as Linda rightly says you didn’t tell your daughter anything she didn’t need to hear. I think
there are too many of us it seems going through a lot of pain and heartache visited on us by our daughters,
and it seems to me these days the young don’t hesitate to make their feelings known. Be unavailable until
your husband returns, move into a peaceful space!
JAN must just say lovely photo last night of the Lapwing. Only seen one once in Windsor Park and it was
very nervy, simply couldn’t get near for a photo like yours. Fingers crossed for good weather on Mull when
you visit the hide. Wondering how Laddie will be with the bobbleheads when they arrive, I think he will
take to it like an ‘Osprey to Water’.I am sure on his present performance he is going to be a joy to watch
Must go and dream up something for dinner tonight and look back at some more of your posts.
BBL.

Hi Deirdre, what a lovely surprise, such a shame that they had run out!! I will have to find out about Adobe and HDNL, will get back to you on that one. Did you order one?
Here are two more Lapwing pics xxx

We didn’t order one as they might get them in tomorrow, or hopefully definitely Tuesday . I tried
the Rutland cam and it was okay Jan, but I do like to keep my eye on Lady when I’m even only
round the corner! Certainly would be interested to know what you dig up on hdnl. and Adobe.
Two more great pics. Jan, it is fun when you can get something a little rare isn’t it and Lapwings
are so elegant like a Victorian Lady with one of those hats they loved so much!
Dx
Deirdre – Glad you had a good day today. I am intrigued as to how BRIGHT your hair is now, lol.
What an achievement to be celebrating your 45th wedding anniversary, congratulations to you both.
Love Julie xxx
Thanks Julie, lets say its creamy and is hiding the muddy mousey blonde streaked now
with more grey than I would like LOL! I am pleased with it the girl I go to is Swedish
and has the same colour hair as I used to and so knows what I like. Yea 45 years we
both don’t know where the years have gone, can remember it like it was yesterday. Its
a sapphire anniversary and I have tried and tried to get Paul an appropriate card, there is
every anniversary but that! However I had my sapphire in the form of an engagement ring
so won’t be getting any surprises like that LOL!
Dx

How did the dentist go today Susan? Hope your mouth isn’t too sore
Marion x
Yes fine thanks Marion, hopefully new gnashers new friday, fingers crossed, lol
also they managed to get the other 2 pieces of bone that were inside the socket out, which was a relief, as one of them was about twice the size of a pinhead, so relief was a bit instant when they came out, lol
So pleased Susan – just hope all goes well next Friday and no more pain. You have gone through so much
Marion x
That’s good news Susan – after so long without them it might take a few days to get used to having a full mouth again – glad the dentist got the bits of bone out for you xxx
Update from Rutland – “Spring clean”:
http://www.ospreys.org.uk/category/osprey-team-blog/
Just had a look at the SWT blog, and at the “Fish pie” results. Good lad, he is taking a lot of Pike. Hope he is taking them from Lowes Loch, as any ducklings are often lost to Pike. There is also interesting data for the times of when he fish`s.
20-43, Laddie still on the eggs.
I have Hellgate up, and there is an Osprey sat in the nest, 13-50 their time.
Just gone back to look at Hellgate, and nest is empty, 14-10 their time.
Off to get a drink – anyone else want one while I’m up?
