FIONA – Thinking of you today and just read the replies to your post of yesterday, I posted a message also but it doesn’t appear, it is in my record in the village though so here it is again:-

So sorry about both your Dads FIONA, both so very poorly at the end, as you say, it will be of comfort that they are together now and out of pain and…[Read more]

@fionamcg – so sorry to hear about your father Fiona. A difficult time for your whole family – no matter what age we are losing our dad is heart-breaking. Thinking of you all but especially Eilidh and Conall. Sending you my sympathies.

Yesterday in Threave gardens was this beautiful Acer hanging on bravely to it leaves, as you see the sky was a lovely shade of blue, shortly afterwards it rained:-

FIONA – My sympathies on the death of your Father, may he rest in peace.

    Love Jenny xxx

    • A beautiful tree. I think the colours have been spectacular this year because the trees held on to their leaves for so long but they are being blown off now but we still have some colour to enjoy before it all goes down-hill.

    • Rosy replied 1 year ago

How glorious are the colours produced on those trees this year JENNY, veritable jewels of the forest. Thank you for bringing the photos here to gladden our eyes.

    • Smashing photos. The colours have been lovely this year and they’ve held on so long, though after this dreadful weather has cleared up who knows.

Stunning. Lovely photos of the Acer.

Arrived home late last eve, exhausted and “sticky”. Hot shower and to bed.
I read on Facebook this morning that Fiona McGlashan’s Father died. I believe
that it was yesterday. Just skimmed the posts here and didn’t see it mentioned.
Fiona@fionamcg, I am so sorry. From the Facebook comments, he was a very special,
    much loved man. My…[Read more]

LINDA, thank you for the news of FIONA`s Dad`s passing. It wasnt posted here, only that Bobs Dad isnt well. I knew about her Dad, and as she hadnt posted about how poorly he was here, I never posted the information. They had their hands full as it was.
FIONA, our thoughts and prayers are with you and Bob and the children. Big (((HUGS)) for all of you.

    • Thanks for letting us know about FIONA’s Dad, so sorry.

Hope you got rid of all that stickiness! Its far from sticky here, temp. down to -2c last night, frost on the garden. Am still suffering with the ‘bug’ both of us are, it’s at the thick horrible stage now so not sleeping very well. Maurice is on Amoxicillin, I will be asking for some soon…[Read more]

At last! I caught feeding time a little while ago, so here is a cute picture of mum feeding the Peregrine chicks at Derby Cathedral

I thought I had better give you a close up of LUCY RABBIT, or she might feel left out. She has been Lucy’s companion toy since she was a baby and here she is at Lucy’s 8th Birthday Party wearing a scarf we knitted earlier when I taught Lucy to do French Knitting.

    • JENNY – thanks for all your photos from the birthday parties, an expensive time of year for you!

our ‘Snowdrop Girl’ Lucy was eight today, here are some pictures taken last week when she stayed with us and we had an early birthday party. We took her up to see Bruce’s Stone at Clatteringshaws Loch, in the Galloway Hills where I took the other photos.

We had a wonderful family lunch at our favourite restaurant. Of course it was all dressed up for St Valentine’s Day, but they really made it special for my birthday

Bea made pancakes at nursery hence the chefs hat!! Linda we have sugar and a squeeze lemon juice,we have maple syrup on drop scones/Scottish pancakes. No yellow sauce.

    • One happy little girl, and looks tired sitting on her little car

    • A tiring business making pancakes when one is quite small!

    • ANGELA – Love the photo of Beatrice with the button box, it’s great to know children still find them so interesting, I used to spend hours with my Nana’s button tin, Anna has it now. There were no other toys in my Nana’s house, we used to read books and the comic strips in the newspaper, I never missed toys at all.

    • Ahhh ANGELA, Thanks for the wonderful photos of Bea. She is such a happy child!
Also, thanks for the info on pancake “topping”. I will try the lemon or orange and sugar with my next pancakes.

    • Lovely photos, thanks ANGELA – Bea certainly looked tired out by the end of her day, no doubt you were too!

The florist has just delivered the most beautiful flowers from the Wildlife Village. I am absolutely overwhelmed. Thank you so much. Bless you all.

I want to tell you that my husband, Dave, has just been reading emails- we share the same address- and he was tearful as he read the messages from the Village.

    • Awww, ERICA, what a lovely lovely man. Dave (((HUGS)) for you too.

    • ERICA, Great that Dave can share in the Village joy! It really is wonderful to be here today!

      • Blessings on your Dave, ERICA. Such agonising traumas are just as terrifying for loved ones who can only stand by and give all their emotional energy in supporting the one who is going through these experiences.

    • He was being brave for your sake but the relief must be huge. Rosy says it so well.

    • ERICA – Give DAVE a big kiss from all of us, I can imagine how fearful he must have felt,
as I said earlier have faith in the medics, they’re fantastic. Good night and God Bless, or should I say Good Morning.

    • ERICA – the stress Dave must have been going through too must have been enormous. I am just so delighted and relieved for you both

I put my thinking cap on, just to cheer ROSY up. As from tomorrow, 23rd Dec = 9 days left of the year. There are 31days in January, 29 days in February, a Leap Year (can you see yet where I am heading?), 21 days in March (date Laddie arrived back last year). So.. …………….. 9+31+29+21= 90 days before Osprey season at Lowes. Say it…[Read more]
