No mention of the Osprey nest I see. Good luck to Glasgow Green.

Good morning dear Villagers. At present we have bright sunshine down here accompanied by one of those breezes with knives in it – very, very chilly. I’m not complaining though as like you LORNA, yesterday I managed to gather up all the leaves ready for our final garden waste collection this year tomorrow. Thank you for your screen grabs from…[Read more]

Yes, I know LORNA, but anything to do with gardening is so much more satisfying I feel because a garden is a ‘living’ thing, whereas HW just repeats itself with none of the exciting discoveries such as can be enjoyed outdoors.

    • Ha ha Rosy – I agree – put the HW on the back burner – forever if I had my way!!!!

      • πŸ™‚ done the vac and dusting this morning and it wont need doing until after the hairdresser on Wednesday, which leaves me time tomorrow to plant the packet of Allium bulbs I found when moving the furniture around this morning, so you see, it paid to do the HW this morning πŸ™‚

A wonderful idea I think after such an horrific disaster had hit so many trees at the Botanic Gardens. I specially like the fact that pieces of furniture will be displayed standing just where the tree from which it has been crafted had grown. Thank you MARION for such heart warming news.

Beautiful pictures MARION. My favourite is the view of the dog walking through woodland in South Lanarkshire, the epitome of Autumn I think. The one from Dunkeld brought back happy memories for me.

LORNA, I have tried twice to post a comment about your super garden, lower down, but each time I pressed ‘post’, my posting just disappears! I hope this one will remain so that you can see my thanks for your great photos. You are so organised in all that you do.

    • ROSY, thank you, but it does mean the HW doesnt get done, until I have got the garden sorted, so tomorrow, I can do the dusting and vac. and probably visit a neighbour in hospital in the afternoon.
It still leaves all the pots and trays to be washed and stored away, but the weather forecast looks good for the forthcoming week.

Good afternoon dear Villagers. I’m afraid I haven’t been around here for the last couple of days, at least not properly. All’s well I’m glad to say, but life has been extra hectic, with comings and goings and a long time with E-mails between my Finnish friend Monica and myself re: endeavouring to book a hotel up in Bournemouth where we would…[Read more]

Wow LORNA, I am completely out of breath having read all that you have been doing today and it feels as if your impetus of today’s tasks will be carrying you non stop right through until next Monday. You put me to shame in all that you do, adding to that your great public spiritedness in so many different ways. I am full of admiration for you.

    • ROSY, I have such a big long garden, that I am behind with getting it ready for winter, due to the leg problem I had which set me back nearly 3 weeks, as well as all the rain we have had recently making it too wet to do. With the weather forecast being dry for the next few days, and feeding the neighbours cat coming to its end this weekend…[Read more]

Good evening dear Villagers. Having been ‘on the move’ rather a lot over the last couple of days, I haven’t managed to post here although I have been popping in for a quick read and to catch up generally. MARION, thank you so much for your latest Hedgehog videos. I’m wondering whether there is any more room for even more bedding to be dragged…[Read more]

Awwww ANGELA, what a lovely idea. It’s sad that old dogs don’t often get rehomed. A friend of mine did in fact take in an old dog some years ago. It was with her for just a few years before it had to be put to sleep. I think it would be just as distressing to have to say good bye to an animal after a shorter time as when one has been with you…[Read more]

It must be so moving to see a newly born Seal pup with its early ‘furry’ coat before it becomes sleek like its mother. When I can get onto this laptop in daylight, I make for the Seals first of all, and while looking at them always have the Seal Lullaby in my head. Once again I’m afraid it is already dark now, so thank you MARION for those…[Read more]

    • When we used to holiday in Wales we used to be able to look down into secret little coves and see the seal pups on the rocky beaches and always worry for them when the seas got rough.

Those are two great photos JACQUELINE. I too love the reflection of the Great White Egret. Rutland Water must be such a lovely place to visit.

Yes LORNA, I agree with you. I think the loch looks stunning in whatever time of the year one gazes upon it.

LORNA, thank you so much for this link. With all that is going on in the world, speaking personally, it is sometimes easy to forget about the incredible flights these Bewick Swans undertake. It is to be hoped that Sacha’s brave flight will highlight again, to so many countries how imperative it is to retain the waters, forests and…[Read more]
