Osprey Diary 16th May

lady12blog

Good morning villagers.   Yesterday, Lady and Laddie were back to the old routine of incubatating, no heart stopping moments of unattended eggs!

Fish Deliveries = 2

06.14  The sun is shinning at Lowes and Lady is sitting on the eggs facing the Loch

9.36. Ahh Here comes Laddie with a nice fish. Lady gets up and takes it from him gently and he walks down to sit on the eggs. Lady flies off to eat breakfast out of the wind

10.23 Laddie squawking loudly – has he seen something? Camera panning around to look for a possible intruder. Still looking skywards and squawking. Something just flew past quite close and he’s up on his feet again, shouting

13.06 Lady has arrived back on the nest at Lowes to relieve Laddie.

18.26  Just now a lovely, peaceful scene up on the Lowes’ nest with Lady gazing all around her.

19.17  Here comes Laddie with Lady’s supper – not a very big one but she flies off with it and Laddie settles himself on the eggs

19.49 Lady is back

20.30 Lady is enjoying the evening sunshine

DYFI

Meanwhile over at Dyfi, there were some strange goings on.  An unknown male landed on the nest with Glesni, while Monty was off fishing! An attempt at mating took place and then when Monty returned, he is sat on his feeding post with a fish, seemingly ignoring the situation on the nest. Glesni then chased the intruder off when she got the fish!
